What would you do if someone stole your content?

🤷🏻‍♀️I wish this were not true…

Content theft has become a huge problem nowadays. People just check what you post and simply copy your ideas.

I myself had my content copied several times: social media posts, blog posts, course contents, to name a few. Even an entire website!

Sadly, it also happens among teachers.

Copyright is something serious, and if you are an educator, you should know better.

So if you don’t know what Copyright is, allow me to clarify the concept:

Copyright is intellectual property, such as books, articles, blog posts. The content can be educational, artistic, or even musical. The owner of this property is the only one allowed to make copies of it - in other words, if you’re making unauthorized copies, it’s a big “no-no.”

Here are a few tips on what to do when people steal/copy your content:

  • Talk to the person who copied the content. If they are decent people, they’ll add your name to the content. If they are rude to you, just block them.

  • Report the content to the platforms: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.

  • If this keeps going, talk to a lawyer and think about taking legal actions.

Respect everyone’s content because once it happens to you, it hurts like a bitch.

🤓Have a great week!
